- Harmony: The Sun and Moon
In our last couple of blogs, we have explored the Sun and the Moon independently, but they work in harmony to create balance, so let's take a look at how that works. Physically, the Moon orbits the Earth and the Earth revolves around the Sun. The Sun and the Moon each have their own unique cycles that have a strong impact on our lives. The Sun The Sun is the life-giving force of our Solar System, represents the essence of who we are and helps to give our life a sense of creative purpose. During the year as we journey around the Sun, the Sun moves through the 12 signs of the zodiac (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces). As this is happening we experience the seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter). The seasons are caused by the Earth's axis being tilted as it orbits around the Sun and they shift and change in a never-ending cycle of beginnings and endings. This cycle is just like a wheel that keeps on turning. If you would like to know more about the Sun and how we celebrate with it, you can read our blog here. The Moon The Moon reflects the light of the Sun, symbolises our feeling responses to life and represents our emotional nature. The Moon symbolises constancy and change. Every month she completes her cycle, starting from the New Moon when she is invisible to Earth, the Moon gradually waxes, gaining in strength and light until she is completely visible at the Full Moon. Then she wanes, steadily losing light and strength until once more she appears to withdraw into complete darkness. Thirteen times a year the Moon waxes and wanes, while the Earth makes one complete revolution around the Sun. If you would like to know more about the Moon and its cycles, you can read our blog here. The Sun and Moon's influence on us The Earth's energy field is strongly influenced by both the Sun and the Moon: The Sun's energy (male aspect) gives light to Mother Earth so that she can provide for her children. The Moon's energy (female aspect) connects to cycles and fertility, mystery and introspection. The Earth is in the centre, her energy moving first with the Sun during the day and then the Moon at night, creating a balance of light and dark. In reality, this means that what's going on out there is also going on within us. If the energy of the Sun and the Moon helps to create balance for Mother Earth then they will do that for us as well. As above, so below. As within, so without. Understanding our Divine Masculine and Feminine Energies The Sun represents the male energy, while the Moon represents the Female. We all have both divine masculine and feminine energies within our energy fields, regardless of whether we are male or female, and it is necessary to balance both in our lives. The ultimate goal for our current lifetime so we can live our best life, is to use both these energies so that we are able to manifest our desires and make our dreams come true in the highest possible sense. Divine feminine energy is natural, receptive, incoming, flowing energy. We experience this in the right side of the brain and the left side of the body. Divine masculine energy is natural, active, outgoing, flowing energy. We experience this in the left side of the brain and the right side of the body. We will probably be dominant in one of these energies and it doesn't necessarily follow that women will be dominant in the feminine energies and men in the male energies. This is because it has absolutely nothing to do with being girlie/sexy/liking pink or being manly/strong/sports, etc... We need to work on balancing both in our lives to make the most of our time here and enhance our abilities to manifest the lives we are working towards. When we aren't in balance, everything becomes exceedingly more challenging. Understanding how we work in harmony with the universe is the first step to finding our balance. We will look at these energies and how to balance them in more detail in our next blog. Love and sparkly blessings, Tiggy xx
- Moonstone for June
Blazing June, what excitements do you have in store for us? Activity and outdoor time aplenty as we approach the peak of the Solar cycle, in addition to the beautiful sight and wondrous smell of Roses and Honeysuckle adorning gardens and hedgerows. Each month in the wheel of the year brings us something unique and very special. To support us during the coming month, our Crystal of the Month is Moonstone! Read on to find out why. June and Moonstone: June is considered the month of maximum daylight in the Northern Hemisphere and the midpoint of the growing season between planting and harvesting. During June, the sixth month of the year, we experience the Summer Solstice, the powerful 6:6 portal and the Sun moving from the Mutable Air sign of Gemini, into the Cardinal Water sign of Cancer. That means we are looking for crystals that align with the energy of June, mainly to enhance the feminine power and intrigue, helping us to go with the flow and move easily and effortlessly through any experience, demonstrating ease and grace and showing others how to do the same! So naturally, I have chosen shimmering Moonstone as my crystal of choice for June. You could also use Pearl, Alexandrite or any other magical crystal that you are drawn to. What is Moonstone? Common Moonstone comes from the mineral Adularia which was named after a mining site near Mount Adular in Switzerland. It also gives its name to Moonstone's shimmery glow, termed adularescence. So Moonstone is made of microscopic layers of Feldspar that scatter light, causing this adularescence effect. Thinner layers create a blue sheen and thicker layers appear white. Moonstone can be found in a variety of colours including grey, black, yellow, green, blue, peach and pink. However, the finest Moonstones are considered to be transparent with a blue shimmer. The Power of Moonstone Moonstone is the crystal of the High Priestess and keeper of the divine feminine mysteries. If we are looking to reveal our feminine power and connect to the goddess, it is a necessity! As a talisman for the inward journey, it takes us deep into ourselves to observe the hidden truths we find in the depths of darkness and brought to plain sight by the shimmering and reflective light of Moonstone. How Moonstone was used throughout History Going way back to ancient civilisations, Moonstone has always been considered a powerful talisman. Highly valued for centuries it is a popular and accessible stone. In India, Moonstone has always been regarded as a sacred stone with special significance for lovers. The Roman natural historian, Pliny, named this gemstone when he wrote that its shimmering appearance shifted with the phases of the Moon. This belief was held until after the 16th century. The Romans believed it was created from Moonbeams and both the Greeks and Romans connected it with their Lunar deities. Moonstone has been popular in jewellery since 1890, spanning the Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts eras and continuing into the New Age movement of the 1990s. The magic of rebirth is available to us during June with the help and support of Moonstone. Carry it with you, wear it as jewellery, place it on your chakras, and have it in your environment, but make sure you connect with it as often as you can. It will help change our lives at this exciting time. Sparkly Moonstone blessings, Tiggy xx
- Understanding the Moons Cycle
The Moon is planet Earth's only natural satellite. She reflects the light of the Sun and represents our emotional nature, symbolising our feeling response to life in general. The Moon influences our emotions, inner life traits and characteristics and has power over our spiritual life is as strong as her power on the ocean tides in the physical world. The Moon's Benefits We can bring more balance and flow to our lives when we choose to follow the rhythms and cycles of the Universe. After all, we are a part of nature, and connecting with the energy and unique cycle of the Moon helps us to feel grounded, less stressed and more connected to our own internal universe. The Moon exerts such a powerful influence that we would be foolish to ignore her! She controls the tidal energies of vast oceans, so just imagine how she impacts mere humans that are 80-90% water! Emotions are the language of manifestation, as what we feel we manifest more of in our life. The Moon Cycle The Moon moves through her own cycle in 28 days, growing visually larger and then smaller in the sky. As she waxes (increases) we develop and as she wanes (decreases) we release. So the Moon can take us on an emotional journey relating to the current zodiac sign of the Sun. The Sun lights up a theme of self-development and the Moon helps us to learn about this theme and then we can evolve and grow. The New Moon - the start of the cycle Each New Moon takes place when the Sun and the Moon are on the same degree of the zodiac at the same time. They are side by side in the sky, just chilling out together and this creates a very special type of magic. The sky is dark and it is a time of quiet reflection where we listen to our intuition and allow new ideas to form. So New Moons are always exciting as they are a time of opportunity and new beginnings. We can plant the seeds of our dreams and consciously manifest with the Moon during the Lunar cycle. What is it that we choose to cultivate during the current cycle? In order to do this we need to have quiet time, alone time. Time to rest, nurture and meditate. We need to go inward and reflect on our desires. When we have done this we can send our intentions for the cycle out into the Universe as soon after the actual time of the New Moon as possible for maximum effect. We can write these intentions down in a journal or Moon diary, but I also love to stand outside and consciously connect with the Moon and speak my intentions out loud to her, always remembering to express gratitude when I have finished. Our intentions are amplified even more when we align them with the energy of the current New Moon. When we add crystals that connect with the New Moon like Labradorite and Black Moonstone, they can support our manifestation in magnificent ways! The Full Moon - the peak of the cycle At the Full Moon, the Sun stands directly opposite the Moon, 180 degrees apart. The Moon is fully illuminated by the Sun and it is time for us to balance the energies that they both represent at this time. The Full Moon is the high point of the Lunar cycle that began a couple of weeks ago at the New Moon. Energy and emotions are at a high, and things might seem a little crazy! It is the most powerful time of the entire cycle and a time to celebrate and enjoy the life we are creating. At the New Moon we planted the seeds of our intentions and now at the Full Moon it is time to harvest what we have cultivated and can see as internal realisations and external success. It is time to be fully engaged with life! It is a very powerful time for healing where we can do our inner work, clearing energy blocks and releasing the past. We can let go of any lower energies in our life that no longer serve us, whether it's a relationship, experience, pattern of behaviour, negative thoughts and emotions ........ anything that is preventing us from living our best life. When we add crystals that connect with the Full Moon like Moonstone and Selenite, they can support our journey through the Lunar cycle in incredible ways. Living in harmony with the rhythm of the Moon and her cycle connects us with our own internal Universe. The deeper self-awareness that this brings really helps us to know who we truly are, which in turn can reveal our purpose and direction. This consistent vision for the future allows us to move forwards with ease and confidence, a blessing indeed. Love and Lunar blessings, Tiggy xxx
- The Wheel of the Year
The Sun. Our magnificent Sun that rises every morning, lights up our skies and is the centre of our Solar System is actually a star! The closest star to Mother Earth, even though it is 93 million miles away!! The heat and light it provides us enable all life to be sustained on our planet in this lifetime. Mother Earth orbits around the Sun and she takes 1 year to complete this transit. Each year consists of four seasons; Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and collectively this is called the Seasonal Cycle. The seasons are caused by the Earth's axis being tilted as it orbits around the Sun. This tilt means that different parts of the Earth are orientated towards the Sun at different times of the year. When the Northern Hemisphere tilts towards the Sun the temperature is higher and we experience Summer. When the Northern Hemisphere tilts away from the Sun the temperature drops and we experience Winter. The pattern of our life throughout the year can follow that of Mother Earth and reflect the changing nature and energy of the seasons. This helps to bring more balance into our lives. Celebrating the Seasons of the Year We can celebrate this Solar Cycle through the seasons as The Wheel of the Year. This is the progression of the Sun's journey throughout the course of a whole year. Of course, it never actually stops, it just keeps on moving forward continuously just like a wheel. Festivals There are 8 fire festivals that celebrate the turning points of the seasons and provide a connection to each phase of the Solar year. This divides the year up, creates flow from one phase to the next and helps us to focus on what's important at the time. They are called Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltain, Litha, Lammas, Mabon and Samhain. Four of these festivals are the Quarter Points; the Solar festivals which divide the year up equally into quarters. They are always at a set time of year when the Sun moves into each of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn). They are: Spring Equinox - equal day and night - Sun enters Aries Summer Solstice - longest day/shortest night - Sun enters Cancer Autumn Equinox - equal day and night - Sun enters Libra Winter Solstice - shortest day/longest night - Sun enters Capricorn The remaining four are the Cross-Quarter Festivals, they sit between each of the Solar festivals (Equinoxes and Solstices). These are more flexible in nature and can be celebrated at a different time each year depending on the nearest Full Moon and appropriate signs of nature. The popular days to celebrate these festivals are: Imbolc - 2nd February Beltain - 1st May Lammas - 1st August Samhain - 31st October Through the Year If we map all of these festivals in relation to the Gregorian calendar, it will look like this: Imbolc - End January/beginning of February mid Aquarius Spring Equinox - East Air 20th-23rd March the Sun enters Aries Beltain - End April/beginning May mid Taurus Summer Solstice - South Fire 20th-23rd June the Sun enters Cancer Lammas - End July/beginning August mid Leo Autumn Equinox - West Water 20th-23rd September the Sun enters Libra Samhain - End October/beginning November mid Scorpio Winter Solstice - North Earth 20th-23rd December the Sun enters Capricorn When we look beyond our modern teachings into the world of natural cycles that span eternity, our lives can become enriched beyond measure. We just have to make a choice to see the world differently, from a fresh, new and different perspective. Love and warm, sunny blessings, Tiggy xx
- The Universe: One Song
The Universe is everything that exists from the largest galaxy clusters to the smallest particles and incorporates space, time, energy, and matter. Nothing separates us from the air we breathe and the Earth beneath our feet. We are one with everything in this extraordinary Universe. Along with all the creatures and plants that inhabit this incredible planet we are dependent for our existence upon the earth, sun, air and rain..... on the elements of Earth, Fire, Air and Water! The word Universe means 'one song'; uni means one and verse means song. The name shows us that we can co-exist and be in harmony with all living things in our Universe. It makes me all emotional just thinking about it. In this Universe, Mother Earth is our home for this lifetime, and she reacts to everything around her. Just like us! The four kingdoms of nature (mineral, plant, animal and human) all interact and depend on each other for life. We are an intrinsic part of nature. We have developed in harmony with the environment (or not!) and can use everything in the natural world to help us on our path and this includes crystals. We are constantly immersed in the vibrations of Mother Earth if we are grounded, and through her energy, we learn about the law of cycles and establish our own patterns through hers. Thank you! Connecting with Mother Earth Our ancestors knew the natural world intimately. If we choose to use their sacred knowledge, their ancient source of power, we can begin to explore our relationship with Mother Earth once more. The subconscious mind loves metaphor, symbols and myth. We can use a combination of these to unlock the secrets of our ancestors and ancient civilisations. The Elements The four elements Earth, Air, Fire and Water characterise principles of creation, and sacred archetypes, which are reflected through every level of our inner and outer existence. As above so below, as within so without. They represent a set of energetic frequencies and describe our most basic personality traits. It's how we really get to know ourselves. This framework might be mythological in origin, but it has been used for centuries across many cultures as a way of understanding the world and everything in it. By understanding the nature of Earth, Air, Fire and Water we can become aware of any imbalances that exist within ourselves. This is significant in terms of our healing. Earth: North - Foundations - Physical - Wisdom The element of Earth represents the stable and physical aspects of ourselves and our life. It is the place of beginnings and foundations and underpins all of our experiences. Earth allows us to take action and get things done. When we are connected with the Earth and her energies, we function well on a daily basis in our life. When we have a balanced expression of Earth we are: reliable, consistent, deliver what we promise. Earth element Crystals include Cuprite, Pyrite, Hematite, Black Tourmaline, Garnet, Obsidian, Ruby, Bloodstone, Smoky Quartz, Petrified Wood, Amber and Shungite. Air: East - Spirit - Mind The element of Air represents the energy of Spirit. Its power is a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. Air enables us to work things out and make sense of things. Its energy is in our breath and in our blood, and it allows us to explore and experience things outside our normal frame of reference by bringing us visions and communication from Spirit. When we have a balanced expression of Air we: communicate well see how people and things interrelate and have definition have an objective and impartial perspective Air element Crystals include Moonstone, Amethyst, Labradorite, Azurite, Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli, Selenite, Charoite, Fluorite, Celestite, Apophyllite and Howlite. Fire: South - Transformation - Spirit The element of Fire represents action and is the force of change and purification. It is through action that we create our reality and our experience. Fire helps us to rise above our situation and dream of other lives and outcomes. The destruction caused by Fire creates space for growth and renewal. It clears the old and unproductive aspects of ourselves, allowing new experiences and creations to thrive. When we have a balanced expression of Fire we: take action as a way of achieving goals and resolving problems. Fire element Crystals include Carnelian, Zincite, Sunstone, Citrine, Malachite, Calcite, Rhodochrosite, Rhodonite, Golden Topaz, Tiger Eye and Vanadanite. Water: West - Introspection - Emotion - Death and Renewal The element of Water represents the emotions, motives and inner energies. Through introspection, we can understand why we create the experiences that we do. Water energy gives us the insight to see beneath the surface. It is a powerful source of energy for cleansing the heart and emotions which is vital for growth. It clears old emotional patterns, helps with self-expression and heals emotional wounds. When we have a balanced expression of Water we are: good at being ourself understand our feelings are real Water element Crystals include Rose Quartz, Aquamarine, Amazonite, Kunzite, Green Aventurine, Pink Tourmaline, Dioptase, Larimar, Chrysocolla, Lepidolite and Blue Lace Agate. Love and elemental blessings, Tiggy xx
- Ruby Zoisite for May
May, what a blessing you are bringing us your warmth, blossoms and beauty. Each month in the wheel of the year brings us something unique and very special. To support us during the coming month, our Crystal of the Month is Ruby Zoisite! Read on to find out why. May and Ruby Zoisite: May is considered the month of abundant blessings as the Earth's energies are at their most active and all of life is bursting with the power of its own potential! During May, the fifth month of the year, we experience Beltane, the powerful 5:5 portal and the Total Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon. The Sun starts in Taurus and then moves into Gemini....... Fixed Earth energy is followed by Mutable Air energy. All the crystals that align with the energy of May tell a story of passion and desire and help us to commit to our goals so we have the power to manifest our visions and dreams. So naturally, I have chosen ravishing Ruby Zoisite as my crystal of choice for May. You could also use an Emerald, Chrysoprase or any other magical crystal that you are drawn to. Ruby Zoisite in History: Ruby Zoisite was discovered in Tanzania in 1954 by an English prospector called Tom Blevins. He initially thought that he had found vast Ruby deposits, but it turned out to be a green Zoisite matrix with large inclusions of opaque Ruby. The Uses of Ruby Zoisite: Ruby Zoisite is the natural combination of both Ruby (corundum) and Zoisite crystals in a single specimen and is heavily included with black Hornblende minerals. It is also known as Anyolite and is one of the most colourful combinations of minerals available to us. Varying tremendously in colour and pattern, Ruby Zoisite is always an energetic powerhouse. The Zoisite provides the earthy green backdrop and the Ruby gives it a deep pink/red infusion in dramatic contrast. This amazing mineral combination stimulates the Base, Heart and Third Eye chakras. Zoisite exudes an energy of growth and fertility, while Ruby is a stone of life force, courage and passion...... exactly what we need right now! Bringing a renewed enthusiasm for life by energising the body and imparting a sense of well-being, Ruby Zoisite then facilitates a dramatic opening of the heart chakra. This then helps to strengthen our connection to higher energies and awaken our authentic self. Thank you! The magic of rebirth is available to us during May with the help and support of Ruby Zoisite. Carry it with you, wear it as jewellery, place it on your throat chakra, and have it in your environment, but make sure you connect with it as often as you can. It will help change our lives at this exciting time. Sparkly Ruby Zoisite blessings, Tiggy xx
- Balance your Relationships with the Full Moon in Libra
We have a Full Moon in Libra at 19.55 GMT on Saturday 16th April! Carry on reading to find out why this is such a special time, plus our favourite Full Moon ritual, and the crystals we recommend for you to use. This Full Moon is often referred to as The Seed Moon as the Earth is warming and seeds flourish and grow. It is a time of action. Feel the energy of new life and let your dreams take flight. The energy is focused on relationships and partnerships! That Aquarian vision we are creating..... comes a little closer as we stay grounded while allowing us to take action with our dreams about the world we would choose to live in. It is a powerful and positive Full Moon for all Air and Fire signs, but more challenging for Earth and Water signs. With so much to talk about with this Full Moon, here is a quick overview. Simply select the link below to go to the section you are looking for: Why is a Full Moon important? How will the Full Moon in Libra affect us? How to embrace the Full Moon Why is a Full Moon important? The night of the Full Moon represents possibility, unfolding potential and abundance as one of our New Moon intentions could be about to manifest or be on its way. From this point on we are aware of the consequences of the cycle and can make conscious choices about any further development. Each month the Full Moon takes place in a different sign, bringing a new and different energy and theme to work with. The Full Moon always occupies the polar opposite sign to that of the Sun. We need to spend time outside and look up at the Moon (even if it isn't visible), connect to our basic instincts and feel wild and free. Our ancestors have danced and celebrated under the light of the Full Moon throughout time and in surrendering to the present moment we are then open to receiving what is available to us right now. Affirmation: I surrender to spirit and open my heart to infinite possibilities We can go within to release the past, shift blocks and heal ourselves. This is easiest when we remember that forgiveness and gratitude are the major players at any Full Moon. The Full Moon is shining so brightly at this time that it is illuminating the darkness to help us see exactly what inner work needs to be done. How will this Full Moon in Libra affect us? At the Full Moon, the Moon and Sun are sat directly opposite each other with the Sun illuminating the Moon. They are both in signs that are totally opposite sides of the zodiac but need to find balance and common ground. They represent opposite ends of the spectrum, neither good nor bad, just what is. This month the Sun is in Aries and the Moon is in Libra. We are looking to find the balance between what we need (Aries) and what we need to do for others (Libra), finding harmonious balance in relationships. This helps us find our flow through the process of transformation. This energy is all about balance! How to embrace the Full Moon We live in a world of energy, or better yet, a web of energy where all things are connected. There are no gaps in this energy, so when we shift and release lower frequencies from our energy field it creates a void that we can then consciously choose to fill with something of a higher nature, with a super-high frequency. Basically, it's out with the old and in with the new. Creating a ritual is the perfect way to work through this process. Here is our suggestion for a Full Moon Ritual: Step 1: Forgiveness holds the releasing power and creates a void. Forgiveness is the first step in the healing process as we have to release the past so we can live the life of our dreams. Forgiveness sets us free as when we forgive, we release the karma which binds us to a person, situation or experience and allows us to be free of it. It does not mean that we condone the actions of someone else, it just allows us to let go and move on. This is such a gift as we can release the burdens we carry and choose to do something far healthier with our energy instead. Forgiveness affirmation: I release the past with love in my heart Step 2: Gratitude holds the power to fill the void. We can fill the gaps created by forgiveness with gratitude as it has such a high vibration. Gratitude is a magical attitude we can choose to have, it helps us to raise our frequency which makes us lighter and brighter and manifests more things for us to be grateful for. Gratitude affirmation: I know that I am truly blessed and all is well in my world Step 3: Guidance I invite you to ask yourself some big questions under the Libra Full Moon and then just feel the answers rise up from your heart. Use these five questions to help guide you: Have I been thinking of others too much and neglecting my own needs? Have I spent enough time finding and creating beauty in my life? Have I been too easily influenced or indecisive? Have I been too concerned with appearance? Have I been living my life through someone else? Step 4: Meditate Meditation is a great tool we can look to use daily, but it can take us to new levels when we meditate and harness the energy that surrounds us during the different stages of moon cycles. Use meditation to help you clear your headspace and reframe. If you aren't sure where to start, you can watch our collection of meditation for beginners videos here. Step 5: Use Crystals Another phenomenal tool to harness is our crystals and their energy, they can help us at any or all stages of the Full Moon ritual. Moonstone can be used at any phase of the Lunar cycle. Selecting crystals intuitively is the best way to surround yourself with the energy you need but if you would like a starting point, here are three crystals we would recommend: Rose Quartz Soft and gentle, yet powerful in its action on the heart and how that impacts our relationships. My number one crystal is Rose Quartz, to help the heart release past wounds and foster faith and hope for the future which is so important in relationships of all kinds. Blue Lace Agate Calming and soothing to the emotions, brilliant at helping us release negative habits of interaction, and then bringing clarity and confidence to help us be more diplomatic in our communications with others. Lapis Lazuli A stone of truth and friendship that brings love, harmony and protection to relationships so is perfect right now. Representing universal truth is a great Ally for Libra. Choose an affirmation, select the crystals you are drawn to and be prepared for this Full Moon. It's setting us up to navigate a more balanced way forward, one where we consider others as we create and express our highest vision for the future. Love and Full Moon blessings,
- The Power of Protection
A Universe of Energy We live in a world of energy, in fact, it's a fabulous web of energy that connects all living things. This is incredible as it means we can tune in to anything in this energetic web, but at some point, we wake up to realise that this energy isn't all positive! Having awareness in this area is key. It is our responsibility to look after our energy first and foremost. We are working to keep ourselves balanced and aligned and this is super important. When we aren't in balance we are much more vulnerable and likely to be affected by lower energies. Balancing Energies We currently live in a world of duality; we can experience both light and dark, higher and lower energies. There is a hierarchy to these energies.....think of cherubs to Archangels in terms of light and mischievous, to downright dangerous (with respect to the darker ones). Sensitivity is a gift, being able to feel gives us such a head start in tuning in to all energies, higher, lower and everything in between. This can be tricky until we accept that this sensitive nature has something really positive to share with us. As our frequency rises we become a beacon of light that attracts all sorts of interest and not just from the higher beings of light, but from these darker energies as well. This is not meant to scare, just raise levels of awareness so that we can all do our part to raise the light and work to purify the lower energies. Where are the lower energies? Within us? Did you know that we create negative energy by the thoughts we are thinking, words we are speaking and actions we take?! Within others? Being in contact with people who are thinking, speaking and acting negatively.... friends, family or just about anyone. All around? We can go to a place where the energy feels weird/odd/downright uncomfortable. Energy can be imprinted on a place so it might be from a very long time ago. Negative energy can also be created in the dream state, not just when we are in waking consciousness. Dreaming is a reality in a different level of consciousness and on waking we can feel deliriously happy or shockingly bad depending on the nature of the dream. Dreams feel really real and the emotions they generate and the subsequent energy is real to. Regardless of whether we can remember the dream or not the emotions will still remain and it is really important to clear the energy in the bedroom. We all spend so much time sleeping that keeping the energy there high and bright really needs to be a priority. Energy is everywhere and we are adding to this energy soup unconsciously, or hopefully, consciously. We need to make sure that our contribution is a good one. How to protect yourself There are so many ways we can protect ourselves. Here are some of my top suggestions, especially if you are new to this: Start by keeping a positive mindset so we minimise the amount of negative energy we are generating. Have awareness and raise our level of understanding in this area so we can be more prepared. Be able to take appropriate action with the energetic tools to support us. Using Crystals to raise your energy We have the best tools to keep us safe. Crystals are amazing in terms of their energy and the variety that we can use to keep us protected. You should always work with crystals you are most drawn to, but if you are looking for some guidance, I would recommend: Black crystals like Black Tourmaline and Black Obsidian not only ground us but keep us safe from harm. Grounding crystals like Amber, Ruby, Garnet and Smoky Quartz will also protect us. Grounded and Guided crystals like Larvikite, Fire Quartz and Hematite keep us aligned and better able to stay balanced. Tiger Eye, Malachite, Selenite, Labradorite, Amethyst and Charoite are all masters at protection Bear in mind that our personal Totem Crystals, Mayan crystals, Zodiac crystals and any significant crystals that you resonate with will have even more power to support you. How you work with these crystals is, again, up to you. Do what you feel you need to. This could be wearing them as jewellery, carrying them in your pockets (I recommend tumble stones for this), or just having them in your environment or sacred space. The harder we are expecting a crystal to work then the more we need to be looking after it in terms of cleansing and charging. Not obsessively, just when guided so that it can stay on top form and fulfil its potential while it is working with us. Tools to raise your energy The level of protection we need will evolve as we do, so just know that everything is always happening perfectly. We just need to be aware of the lower energies and then know what steps to take to protect ourselves against them. There are so many different things we can use singly or in combination, that's why it is so important to use our intuition. You could try: Visualisation - bringing light down from the Cosmos through your Crown chakra to your heart and then sending it out in all directions Sound - drum, singing bowl, Ting Sha bells Essential oils - Palo Santo, Sage, White Angelica Smudging/Incense - Sage, Palo Santo and Copal Open a window - to bring clean air in Flower essences - Petaltone do a range specifically for protection Angels - the power of protection Salt and salt lamps - nature's cleanser Reiki symbols - if you are Reiki trained Working with your guidance We are all so uniquely different that we need to have toolboxes filled with different energetic tools that we combine in our own way at the perfect time. It is so important to use what we are guided to, the first thing that comes into our head. We want our energy field to be clear and clean every single day. Like we have a shower or bath every day to cleanse our physical body we need to pay the same attention to our energy. If we feel off then the first thing we need to do is clear our energy field. Protection isn't just about your physical body, it is about everything around you too. Consider working on: Personal protection Home protection Workspace protection Car protection Travelling protection There are only ever challenges that we work to overcome and protecting our energy is one of the really important ones. Love and protective blessings, Tiggy xx

All the crystals that align with the energy of April are translucent, clear and used to raise energy and strengthen the vibration of a person or place. They tell a story of power and innovation and help us to have wisdom, direction and support. So naturally, I have chosen Clear Quartz as my crystal of choice for April. You could also use a Diamond or any other magical crystal that you are drawn to. Clear Quartz: Clear Quartz is the most versatile and multidimensional stone in the crystal kingdom. It has an incredible ability to carry any energy efficiently, whilst also reflecting and amplifying the energies to which they are exposed. Quartz occurs naturally in many different forms according to its hexagonal crystalline structure. As one of the purest forms of crystal, it carries a high and pure echo of Mother Earth's energy field. Quartz contains silicon and oxygen, two of the most common elements on Earth, and it can be found on every continent in the world in magnificent abundance. The history of Quartz: From the times of Lemuria and Atlantis to the ancient Egyptian culture, the Mayans and Aztecs to the African tribal systems, Aborigines and Tibetan Buddhists, Quartz has been used in diagnostic healing, for raising consciousness towards the enlightened state, and in communicating with spirits and beings of light from higher realms. Quartz in the modern world: It is no secret that this ability has been harnessed in the modern world, with Quartz being used in early crystal radio sets. But it does not stop there, being able to resonate with various frequencies and amplify those resonant frequencies makes Quartz a sought-after material in modern technology. Much in the same way, Quartz can be used for almost any metaphysical purpose allowing us to amplify our energy and feel things more strongly. This is important as it helps us to identify subconscious and unconscious patterns that are driving our emotions and behaviours, ultimately creating confusion and chaos in our lives. But how can Quartz do all of this? The power of Quartz: When we shine a light through Clear Quartz, a rainbow appears demonstrating the entire spectrum of colours in just one crystal. This means it can affect every aspect and level of us and our lives, making it a crystal of transformation; one that resonates with the element of Storm. This is also why Clear Quartz can be programmed with any intention and can be used to enhance the energy of other crystals. Quartz produces a force field of healing negative ions while clearing the surrounding atmosphere of positive ions. It purifies and cleanses the physical, mental and spiritual bodies of lower energies and influences. Quartz then stimulates positive thoughts and feelings and directs them to peace, joy and loving relationships with all other beings. We can feel transformed just by being in its presence. Like spending time at the ocean or in a forest, it helps us to be grounded and to calm and clear our minds, a key component in helping us address the chaos and confusion in our lives. Working with Quartz: When we think about Clear Quartz it really brings so many powerful qualities to mind: cleansing, healing, programming with intentions, amplification raising levels of consciousness to name a few. It reminds us of the ultimate goal, the aspiration of every spiritual seeker - that of becoming Light incarnate; to exist in physical form and yet have the vibration and consciousness of Spirit, embodying light in the physical vessel. Clear Quartz encourages and exemplifies this ideal through its clarity and beauty on both physical and energetic levels. Regardless of how we choose to use Quartz, the power and force remain attuned to the energy of the person it is connected to. The magic of rebirth is available to us during April with the help and support of Clear Quartz. Carry it with you, wear it as jewellery, place it on your throat chakra, have it in your environment, but make sure you connect with it as often as you can. It will help change our lives at this exciting time. Sparkly Clear Quartz blessings, Tiggy xx
- Manifest your Dreams with the 4:4 Portal
The powerful support continues as we welcome April with a New Moon on the 1st, followed a few days later on the 4th with another powerful portal. More energy for us to work with and benefit from with the help of our beloved crystals. In April we experience the 4:4 portal. Monday 4th of April is the 4th day of the 4th month of the year and is known as the 4:4 portal. This portal presents us with a fabulous opportunity to work with the incoming energies and downloads for our highest good. Super upgrade and up-levelling right here just for us! If we have awareness of the relevance of the number 4 then we will have a greater understanding of the significance of its relevance at the portal and where to place our focus. We can choose to consciously participate so that we can benefit fully, but it is entirely up to each of us whether we actively engage with and make the most of these fabulous energies available to us on these special days. The meaning of the 4:4 portal At the 4:4 gateway, portals of light will transmit activational codes by streaming rays of light down onto our beautiful planet. Waves of energy that are full of light codes will be triggering our DNA to activate and evolve so we are able to increase our frequency. These waves of energy will combine with the energy and vibration of the number 4. Number 4 brings us stability of form with solid, confident energy that we can use as a foundation to build upon. It connects with physical structure, boundaries, manifestation and time in the material world. It is a divine energy that resonates with the vibration of maturity, self-expression and self-fulfilment. The powerful symbolism of the number 4 makes us think about 4 sides to a square, 4 elements (Earth, Air, Fire and Water), 4 directions (North, South , East and West), 4 seasons and so on...... For the 4:4 portal, the Sun is in Aries (innovation and leadership) so on this day we are heralding a significant shift in awareness as the energy of Aries combines with the amplified number 4, promising the manifestation of the structure of our dreams in the physical plane. We need to be conscious of our inner focus and the support we are receiving from the Universe as we act to manifest our Soul purpose in the material world. How to use the 4:4 portal Step 1: Identify what is holding you back It is really helpful to identify any areas that are preventing guidance from flowing into our lives. We can do this by asking ourselves questions such as: Where is my internal dialogue holding me back? What limiting words and phrases am I repeatedly using in connection with the physical world? What restricting words do I use to describe my ability to manifest? Step 2: Letting go of old beliefs Once identified, we choose to let go of this old mental patterning and beliefs. Release it and let it go. Release the past with love in our heart and then choose to invite in newer, higher vibrations to take their place. Call our spirit guides, angels, power animals..... to help us and use Aquamarine (release) and Ocean Jasper (let go and flow) or any other crystals we are guided to support us in this process. Remember, Aries asks us to have faith in ourselves. Step 3: Manifest All we need to do then..... Sit quietly out in nature or inside in your sacred space. If inside, light a candle, diffuse essential oils or burn incense to cleanse and purify the space. Hold a clear Quartz point or other crystal of choice. Invite and visualise the 4:4 energies flowing down from the heavens and flowing down from your Crown chakra and into your chakra column on the in-breath. Have the intention to anchor this energy within your physical body and energy field to upgrade your ability to receive guidance. On the out-breath visualise this energy flowing down from your Base chakra and continuing past your Earth Star chakra (just beneath your feet) and keeping going until it reaches the crystalline core of Gaia. Just keep breathing in and out, visualising the incoming energies flowing down through you and then down into the Earth. Anchoring the energies within you and then grounding them into Gaia. You are the channel. Connecting Heaven and Earth. The energies are flowing through you. They are activating cellular light codes within you. Let the light do the work. Just focus on the light moving through you. Do this until you feel it is time to stop. Then invite and visualise energies from deep within Mother Earth flowing up from beneath your feet and flowing into your Base chakra and into your chakra column on the in-breath. Sense the difference in this energy compared to the energy that came down from the heavens. On the out-breath visualise this energy flowing up and out of your Crown chakra and flowing back down around the outside of your body back into Mother Earth. Just keep breathing in and out, visualising the incoming energies flowing up through you and then back down into the Earth. Do this until you feel it is time to stop. Drink lots of pure water. Express gratitude to the Universe by bringing your hands together in front of your heart and saying 'thank you, thank you, thank you'. Go for a walk in nature or draw some oracle cards for guidance. We can also ask the Universe to help us receive the guidance that we need in order to live our best possible life. By releasing all limitations that we currently have regarding our ability to heal ourselves, we can bring our highest potential to this world and shine like the fabulous inspired beings that we truly are. Aries will be offering us an energetic doorway through which we can walk on the 4:4 portal, leaving the unwanted and denser aspects of our past behind. We are then able to step into a higher frequency and level of consciousness and a more authentic and confident version of ourselves. This is how we evolve, embody more light and help to heal ourselves and the world. Relax, embrace the energies and enjoy! Our crystals are the best support for us at this time of transformation and rebirth. Sparkly love and portal blessings, Tiggy xx
- The Zodiac Year
The wheel of the year keeps on turning and we find ourselves at the beginning of the Zodiac year as the Sun moved out of Pisces and into Aries a few days ago. It is a fabulous time of renewal and growth, of opportunity and action, for us and for all of Nature. We are creatures of Nature and its forces express themselves through us and around us. The sequence of the Zodiac signs' elements and qualities can be seen as a complete holistic structure and work like a well-oiled machine. There is nothing random about it as each sign has a unique and vital role to play within Mother Nature's annual cycle. They tell of the relationship between Heaven and Earth that creates life, and this can help us accept and nurture our own nature. Our Sun sign might be Leo, Scorpio or Gemini, but every time the Sun moves into a different sign of the Zodiac it is important and will have a significant impact on our lives in one way or another. The more we can pay attention to the changes and work with the different energies using our crystal allies to support us, the easier it will be for us. This is a great time to look at an overview of the year ahead and acknowledge that it is not just our own personal Sun sign that is important, all the energies throughout the year are here to help and support us if we choose to take advantage of them. We can just look to Nature to see where we are at any given point in time if we wander into unfamiliar territory or lose our way. The Signs It all begins with Aries and applies equally to us... Aries - March/April The Cardinal Fire of Aries generates the power to move forward. Its energy comes from the Sun and Nature springs into life and buds explode into existence. All growth rises rapidly towards the heavens and individuality emerges strongly. Taurus - April/May The power generated in Aries is now concentrated through the Fixed Earth of Taurus. Nature grows from within and using the Earth's resources it develops leaves and flowers. Everywhere is beautiful. Gemini - May/June That which has been concentrated in Taurus is now distributed through the Mutable Air of Gemini. The warm air is alive with movement and the sound of flying creatures that are the agents of cross-pollination. Gemini is the agent of exchange between polarities that enable fertilisation and reproduction to happen. Cancer - June/July The Cardinal Waters of Cancer generate the power to bear fruit. Growth is at its height and the Cardinal Water actively surges upwards and outwards to reproduce. Its water swells the fruit that is the outcome of the connection between Heaven and Earth. Leo - July/August The power that has been generated is now concentrated through the Fixed Fire of Leo. Fruit and seed ripen to maturity in the warm Summer Sun. With fire in their hearts they glow magnificently as individuals. Virgo - August/September That which has been concentrated in Leo must be distributed through the Mutable Earth of Virgo. Ripe seeds must be dispersed. These seeds contain the perfect package for making another unique individual. Virgo perfects each tiny part and disseminates useful information via the creatures that eat or store the seed. Libra - September/October The Cardinal Air of Libra generates the power for the individual self to die. That which has grown must now die and the individual self-development must be balanced by relationships and connections with others. Without this, the magic of regeneration cannot happen. Scorpio - October/November The power that has been generated is now concentrated through the Fixed Water of Scorpio. Life retreats underground as old forms decompose in the rain and frost. Essential elements are released creating the catalyst to nourish next year's growth. Only through this cycle of death and decay can there be new life. Sagittarius - November/December That which has been concentrated must now be distributed by the Mutable spark of Sagittarius. Set free by decomposition, sparks of life fly into the future. The horizon is revealed again and inner visionary fires of hope look towards the rebirth of the Sun. Capricorn - December/January The Cardinal Earth of Capricorn generates the power of creation. Earth's instinct to rise up and reach for the light is quickened by the Solstice Sun. Capricorn establishes the secure foundation necessary for future success by actively seeking out resources that will nourish upward growth and production. Aquarius - January/February The power generated is now concentrated through the Fixed Air of Aquarius. It synthesises the information into a plan that fixes the idea that will inform and define future development. It is aware of uniqueness and connectivity. Pisces - February/March The plan that was concentrated is now distributed by the Mutable Waters of Pisces which spread the current of life itself through Mother Nature. Sap rises and seeds swell with the essential fluid that connects all things. Then we begin again..... seasons and cycles, rhythm and balance, all things in good time. When we are aware of and understand the predominant energy belonging to each individual sign of the Zodiac, we can use it to maximum effect to help us on our path at the relevant time of year. There are so many crystals that we can use, we just need to let ourselves be guided to the perfect one/s at the right time and how to use them. If you would like more information, we have created a free Zodiac Guide with over 20 pages of information, which you can download here. Love and Zodiac blessings, Tiggy xx
- Full Moon in Virgo
We have a Full Moon in Virgo at 07:17 GMT on Friday 18th March! Carry on reading to find out why this is such a special time, plus our favourite Full Moon ritual, and the crystals we recommend for you to use. This Full Moon is often referred to as The Hare Moon as we see amorous cavorting and spectacular boxing hares. It is a time of fertility and the perfect opportunity to act on our plans. The energy is fussy, fastidious and can get a little anxious! That Aquarian vision we are creating..... comes a little closer as we stay grounded while allowing ourselves to dream about the world we would like to live in. It is a powerful and positive Full Moon for all Earth and Water signs, but more challenging for Fire and Air signs. With so much to talk about with this Full Moon, here is a quick overview. Simply select the link below to go to the section you are looking for: Why is a Full Moon important? How will the Full Moon in Virgo affect us? How will this Full Moon in Virgo affect us? At the Full Moon, the Moon and Sun are sat directly opposite each other with the Sun illuminating the Moon. They are both in signs that are totally opposite sides of the zodiac but need to find balance and common ground. They represent opposite ends of the spectrum, neither good nor bad, just what is. This month the Sun is in Pisces and the Moon is in Virgo. We are looking to find the balance between the vision of the whole (Pisces) and the health of the small part (Virgo), between our own personal healing and that of humanity. This helps us find our flow through the process of transformation. The energy is uptight! Gratitude affirmation: I know that I am truly blessed and all is well in my world Step 3: Guidance I invite you to ask yourself some big questions under the Virgo Full Moon and then just feel the answers rise up from your heart. Use these five questions to help guide you: Have I been of service to others? Have I paid enough attention to the details? Have I been worrying too much and creating negative energy? Have I been putting myself down in any way? Have I been overly critical of myself or others? Step 4: Meditate Meditation is a great tool we can look to use daily, but it can take us to new levels when we meditate and harness the energy that surrounds us during the different stages of moon cycles. Use meditation to help you clear your headspace and reframe. If you aren't sure where to start, you can watch our collection of meditation for beginners videos here. Step 5: Use Crystals Another phenomenal tool to harness is our crystals and their energy, they can help us at any or all stages of the Full Moon ritual. Moonstone can be used at any phase of the Lunar cycle. Selecting crystals intuitively is the best way to surround yourself with the energy you need but if you would like a starting point, here are three crystals we would recommend: Agate Earthy and grounded, many types of Agate are beneficial to work with at the Virgo Full Moon. Their calming and consistent energies are a brilliant ally and friend to carry with you for support at this time. Welcome harmony and rebalance with this versatile stone that calms, uplifts and promotes positive thinking. Apatite This powerful stone will help to maintain mental and emotional balance which is much needed when Virgo energy abounds. It clears away negativity and confusion and then stimulates the intellect to expand to support personal growth. Mookaite Jasper The beautiful earthy tones of this fabulous type of Jasper supports us through times of stress by absorbing negative energy, balancing divine masculine and feminine energies, and providing protection. No wonder its nurturing energy brings tranquillity and wholeness to frazzled Virgo energy! Choose an affirmation, select the crystals you are drawn to and be prepared for this Full Moon. It's setting us up to navigate a more balanced way forward, one where we are inventive as we create and express our highest vision for the future. Love and Full Moon blessings, Tiggy xx
