In our last couple of blogs, we have explored the Sun and the Moon independently, but they work in harmony to create balance, so let's take a look at how that works.
Physically, the Moon orbits the Earth and the Earth revolves around the Sun. The Sun and the Moon each have their own unique cycles that have a strong impact on our lives.
The Sun
The Sun is the life-giving force of our Solar System, represents the essence of who we are and helps to give our life a sense of creative purpose.
During the year as we journey around the Sun, the Sun moves through the 12 signs of the zodiac (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces).
As this is happening we experience the seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter). The seasons are caused by the Earth's axis being tilted as it orbits around the Sun and they shift and change in a never-ending cycle of beginnings and endings. This cycle is just like a wheel that keeps on turning.
If you would like to know more about the Sun and how we celebrate with it, you can read our blog here.
The Moon
The Moon reflects the light of the Sun, symbolises our feeling responses to life and represents our emotional nature.
The Moon symbolises constancy and change. Every month she completes her cycle, starting from the New Moon when she is invisible to Earth, the Moon gradually waxes, gaining in strength and light until she is completely visible at the Full Moon. Then she wanes, steadily losing light and strength until once more she appears to withdraw into complete darkness. Thirteen times a year the Moon waxes and wanes, while the Earth makes one complete revolution around the Sun.

The Sun and Moon's influence on us
The Earth's energy field is strongly influenced by both the Sun and the Moon:
The Sun's energy (male aspect) gives light to Mother Earth so that she can provide for her children.
The Moon's energy (female aspect) connects to cycles and fertility, mystery and introspection.
The Earth is in the centre, her energy moving first with the Sun during the day and then the Moon at night, creating a balance of light and dark.
In reality, this means that what's going on out there is also going on within us. If the energy of the Sun and the Moon helps to create balance for Mother Earth then they will do that for us as well.
As above, so below. As within, so without.
Understanding our Divine Masculine and Feminine Energies
The Sun represents the male energy, while the Moon represents the Female. We all have both divine masculine and feminine energies within our energy fields, regardless of whether we are male or female, and it is necessary to balance both in our lives.
The ultimate goal for our current lifetime so we can live our best life, is to use both these energies so that we are able to manifest our desires and make our dreams come true in the highest possible sense.
Divine feminine energy is natural, receptive, incoming, flowing energy. We experience this in the right side of the brain and the left side of the body.
Divine masculine energy is natural, active, outgoing, flowing energy. We experience this in the left side of the brain and the right side of the body.
We will probably be dominant in one of these energies and it doesn't necessarily follow that women will be dominant in the feminine energies and men in the male energies. This is because it has absolutely nothing to do with being girlie/sexy/liking pink or being manly/strong/sports, etc...
We need to work on balancing both in our lives to make the most of our time here and enhance our abilities to manifest the lives we are working towards. When we aren't in balance, everything becomes exceedingly more challenging.
Understanding how we work in harmony with the universe is the first step to finding our balance. We will look at these energies and how to balance them in more detail in our next blog.
Love and sparkly blessings,
Tiggy xx
