September is the ninth month of the year and marks the beginning of Autumn in the northern hemisphere. It is traditionally associated with a change in the seasons and it embraces the Autumn Equinox, the Sun in Virgo and then Libra, leaves changing colour, apples ripening and typically temperate weather.
Crystals specifically aligned with the energy of September tell a story of power and wisdom. They help us to channel wisdom from the higher realms and expand our base of knowledge.
So it will probably come as no surprise to you that I have chosen Lapis Lazuli as my crystal of choice for the month of September. This staggeringly beautiful, intensely colourful and visually striking crystal is a powerhouse of influential energies that need our attention.
The history of Lapis Lazuli
It was one of Cleopatra's prized possessions that she believed granted power and eternal life. During her reign, she seized the Lapis from all the mines in the Middle East and deemed it her own property! Well, you would, wouldn't you?! The walls of her palace were inlaid with it and she also had it ground into a powder to use as an eyeliner.
Lapis is a stone of spirituality and royalty that was used to decorate and then later entomb the Pharaohs of Egypt. It carries the vibration of the inner Queen or King/goddess or god/high priestess or priest, that resides within each of us. By choosing to meditate with Lapis, it is possible to recover past-life memories that will help us to evolve in this lifetime, our current incarnation.
What is Lapis Lazuli?
Lapis Lazuli is a majestic combination of deep blue Lazulite or Hauyne, golden Pyrite and white Calcite. It has been prized as a gemstone for over 6,000 years among many civilisations. The name is derived from the Latin for stone (Lapis) and the Persian for Heaven (l'azulus).
How can Lapis Lazuli help?
The deep celestial blue is a symbol of royalty and honour, spirit and vision, gods and power. The gold veins represent rivers of prosperity that flow to those who have power.
Lapis Lazuli activates the Third Eye and promotes psychic development. It helps us connect with our deepest inner truth, facilitating peace and gaining freedom from lower and negative thought patterns. It happily bestows confidence, wisdom and grace to the user.
As a dignified stone of the Third Eye chakra belonging to the element of Air, it heightens our ability to access inner-vision and deepen self-knowledge. A fabulous stone of intuition, personal power, telepathy, wisdom and spiritual growth, it brings confidence, courage and good fortune to those who choose to connect with it.
